Northern Governor P.S.M. Charles handed in her resignation letter from the post of Governor with immediate effect to the Presidential Secretariat, the Governor's Office said today.
The resignation came in the wake of new administration headed by newly elected President Anura Kumara Dissanayake assumed duties today. Politically appointed Governors of other provinces too handed in their resignation letters following the President Dissanayake's victory on Sunday. (Northeastern Monitor/ Sept23/2024)
