Security stepped up around Batticaloa courts after bomb threat

Special security measures have been put in place around Batticaloa Courts complex after alleged bomb threat was issued by unknown person to Court Registrar last night (24)


Police and Special Task Force (STF) personnel deployed around courts complex following an unanimous caller threatening to detonate a bomb inside the Courts. 


The Bomb Disposal Unit was also called to search the premises but no evidence was found. Court functions were also briefly disrupted due to the incident. 

The incident came as special security measures were taken around the popular tourist spots in the Eastern coast following security warning of impending attack targetting Israeli nationals were released by foreign diplomatic missions in Colombo on TV Wednesday.
