The foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a new passenger terminal at Jaffna International Airport was held yesterday (December 15).
Under the funding allocated from Ministry of Transport and Aviation along with implementing agency of Civil Aviation Authority, senior officials and religious leaders took part in the ceremony.
The move came following several requests made by locals and travelers in the past to construct a passenger terminal at the regional airport in Jaffna since there are no adequate facilities are made for travelers. (Northeastern Monitor / December 16/2025)
