A senior academic attached to University of Jaffna sought directives from Court to counter alleged sexual abuse charges leveled against him by his one time student.
Professor S. Raguram of University of Jaffna attached to Faculty of Arts filed a case at Point Pedro courts under Online Safety Act to counter alleged sexual abuse and harassment allegations leveled against him by one of his student who later joined as Demonstrator under same department after graduation.
Filed under Section 20 of Online Safety Act, totally eleven respondents were named including six former students and social media platform such as Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.
The petition seeks court’s directive to issue an order against respondents from masking defamatory comments about the petitioner on social media platforms.
