Setup ICU units in all state hospitals: Northern Governor to Health officials

Northern Governor P.S.M. Charles issued a directive to Provincial Health authorities to set up Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in all government hospitals in the province. 

Addressing a meeting on Thursday (August 8) with senior officials of the Provincial health sector on challenges faced by the health sector, the Governor directed senior officials to ensure the setting up of ICU units in all state hospitals with trained staff and adequate resources. 

The governor had also called for a comprehensive report on the challenges faced by the health sector, cadre shortages, lack of resources and urgent needs of the sector in the province soon. (Northeastern Monitor/ August 10/2024)
