The Additional Magistrate of Mallakam Courts Mrs Subharajini Jeganathan handed in her resignation from the post with effect from Tuesday (23) following a probe initiated by Judicial Services Commission.
The Commission which probed complaints lodged by the Mallakam Court Bar found that the Magistrate failed to ensure impartiality and the dignity of the office of Magistrate Court.
Accordingly, with the magistrate handing in resignation, the Commission declared that Ms Subharajini is interdicted from the judicial service.
A High Court judge representing the Commission visited the room of the interdicted judge and took custody of files and things in the room as per the protocol.
The Mallakam Bar is assured that a new Additional Magistrate will be appointed to the vacant post in near future. (Northeastern Monitor/ September 25/2025)
