One and half acres of private land that was under military custody over a decade in Kandawalai, Kilinochchi was returned formally to District Secretary today.
The said land was illegally acquired by the military to operate a vehicle cleaning station at Parantan since the end of war despite rightful owner demanded military to return his private land.
Commenting on the land release on his Facebook page, National Peoples’ Power Council or Jaffna Municipal Council Kabilan Suntharamoorthy said that other military held private land which ‘are not needed for public service development will continue to be released,”
