The military vacated Chulipuram military camp in Jaffna after nearly three decades of occupation on last Friday (23).
Earlier, Commanding Officer of 513 Brigade of Security Forces informed Secretary of Chankanai Divisional Secretariat that the forces will be vacating the ares and military structures will be moved to a new location.
Over the years, the military setupped permanent structures in the land area s well. According to sources, another military camp in Pandatharippu area also will be withdrawn in near future as well. (Northeastern Monitor/ January 28/2026)
