| Ongoing excavation activities at Chemmani mass grave site on Saturday (May 2) |
During the third stage of excavation activities at Chemmani mass grave in Jaffna, a total of 243 human skeletons were recovered completely.
With two human remains were found by the excavation team yesterday (May 1), total number of human skeletons found in the mass grave site is at 246.
During the excavation process, also found a wooden made box along with black color power material as well. The investigations are underway by the exaction team to determine the objects.
The excavation process is scheduled to recommend next Monday. (May 4) (Northeastern Monitor/ May 2/2026)
