At least 187.56 acres of land belong to State Cement Corporation was returned to officials after decades of military occupation in Kankesanthurai, Jaffna.
The relevant documents to mark returning the state land to another state agency was handed over to Jaffna District Secretary M. Piratheepan by officer in charge for Civil affairs at Palay Headquarters by Col. W. M. A. M. Nissanka on Wednesday (September 30)
The land is to be utilized for a 351.23 acre extend investment zone in Kankesanthurai following the directive issued by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. (Northeastern Monitor/ October 1/2026)
