The Blood Bank at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital is requiring urgent blood stock as it is facing a critical stage with limited blood stock, hospital sources said.
The blood bank which supplies blood to emergency surgical procedures at the hospital said there has been an acute shortage for all types of blood varieties.
Therefore, the Blood Bank requested locals, youth clubs and community organizations to consider donating bloods through donation camps. Those who donated blood earlier can also donate again after four month period.
The Blood Bank also had undertaken initiatives on its own to collect blood by conducting blood donation camps in the region as a well.
